German comedies?
Hi, everyone!

I'm looking for recommendations for German-language movies, preferably comedies.

I've seen several German movies (Downfall (Untergang, Der) , Lives of Others, The (Leben der Anderen, Das) , Sophie Scholl: The Final Days (Sophie Scholl - Die letzten Tage) , Good bye, Lenin!) and while I liked them all, I'm looking for something light for a change. Something that doesn't involve Hitler or communism... Fluff, something silly, a chick flick, anything.

Thanks in advance!!

PS I've already seen Run Lola Run (Lola rennt)

German comedy? There is no such thing my friend heheh..

Seriously though, to answer your question, I've heard good things about Keinohrhasen. Haven't seen it though, and it does sound decidedly fluffy, silly, and chick flicky, so can't vouch for it.

A very good German movie that you haven't listed is Knockin' on Heaven's Door, but I don't remember if it was in English or in German (IMDB says German / English, go figure). It has it's funny moments, but isn't a comedy as such. Highly recommended, though.

Hope this helps!

Faith Akin's movies are great, but there also others... comedy is sometimes black:
Head-On (Gegen die Wand)
Edge of Heaven, The (Auf der anderen Seite)
In July (Im Juli)
Tuvalu
India (Indien)
Schultze Gets the Blues
Bagdad Cafe (a.k.a. Out of Rosenheim)

The German comedies that I most enjoyed are:

"Viktor Vogel - Advertising Rules" - http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0246514/

and

What to Do in Case of Fire (Was tun, wenn's brennt?)

Also, I liked the 1943 "Muenchausen". It's more off-the-wall funny than fluff/chick-flick funny.

It's particularly good for fans of Terry Gilliam's version.

Just a heads up but Edukators, The (Fetten Jahre sind vorbei, Die) isnt a fluffy silly chick flick. Just a good german movie which is under the genre of comedy and stars Daniel Brühl.

Ma"nner in the original German only (the English dub is HORRIBLE, totally wrecks it) http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0089656/

Try some of Helge Schneider's movies!!! Hes one of the best german comedians I know. Weird and silly as hell but damn smart in his own way of seeing things.

a bit melanchonic autobiographical work: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0388458/

a bit like a theater play: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0119932/

a crime thriller parody: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0109000/

a nice western parody: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0108317/
