just wondered if anyone is interested in joining a film club. we could watch two or three movie titles every week and discuss casually about them.
SO why do i want to be a part of a film club? to WATCH NEW movies that i have yet seen, to REWATCH movies that i have seen, to CONVERSE with people about movies.
about me and movies:
*i enjoy almost any type of movies though i do tend to postpone movies that are "brooding/troubling" or centers around sensitive subjects even though i will eventually see them and enjoy them.
*i dont really watch a lot of current movies, i have only seen 3 movies from 2009 and none from 2010, i think i like watching movies after everyone's forgotten about them.
*horror movies scare me, but i'm an openminded person.
*i love old movies, whether they are considered "classics" or not.
*the list movielens generates of the 100 most popular movies (500 for that matter) have been seen with a few exceptions.
*i havent watched alot of foreign movies.
about people i'd like to watch movies with:
*someone who is willing to watch all of the movies that we agree to watch (from start to finish)
*someone who is willing to take a chance on a movies that are different from what they usually watch.
*can obtain the titles suggested one way or the other within a week.
*if you fit into one these categories: allrounder (like all movies), comedian/comedienne, salt'n'pepper (black and white movies), blank slate [havent watched alot of movies], crybaby (movies that makes you sad), flashbang (action movies), jock (sports movies), P.I. (mystery movies)... i cant think of any more categories though i'm sure there. your expertise is needed to find new movies to enjoy.
where to converse? i'd prefer a private facebook group, though i'm open for suggestions.

superduper baa. i'll create a new post with a title suggestion, if the two of you could suggest a title as well. and the movies need to be seen by 26/4.

I am intrigued as well. Movielens forums are open, but the number is users are small. There have been occasional contentious discussions, but people still stay pretty civil around here.

a shameless bump.
and excellent Mannava, nice to meet you. hopefully we can get one or two more i think that should be good enough a group of people.
and if you're comfortable discussing movies here i'm ok with that. i'm just slightly apprehensive about open forums (i read the imdb forums alot - so much nonsense).
