Six hours of football movies?,
I'm thinking of putting together a set of movies for Super Bowl Sunday before the big game. Any recommendations for a series of movies (5-6 hours total) that would make a fitting lead-in. (People will be dropping in/out, snacking, etc. -- so these shouldn't be so "deep" that people can't wander in mid-movie.)

I have three on the top of my head

1. Jerry Maguire
2. Remember the Titans
3. Waterboy, The

That should fill 5-6 hours :).

I second Remember the Titans, I remember enjoying this movie even without knowing anything about the rules of the game! Here are a few more:
- Replacements, The
- Rudy (inspirational beyond just football)
- Harvard Beats Yale 29-29 ( very cool documentary about the epic game peppered with player interviews, including Tommy Lee Jones who played for Harvard)

A search for the tag "football" gives all kinds of fun answers: http://movielens.org/tagSearch?referrer=movieRow&tag=football

Any Given Sunday is entertaining in a "I can't believe how bad this is" way.

I think the original version of #The Longest Yard starring Burt Reynolds is worth a look.

Disney's Invincible but that is the Philadelphian, in me, talking

I also second Replacements, The
#Second String (Mind you it was a TNT movie) was fun too.

And you cannot forget Friday Night Lights

I would put #Rudy near the top of the list. #Friday Night Lights was a big disappointment after reading the book.
