Worst Sequel Compared To First Film.
[archived]
What's the worst sequel compared to the first film.

Don't say something like Big Momma's House 2, because Big Momma's House 1 was terrible.

I'd say Jaws 2 compared to Jaws was insanely terrible.

Or even The French Connection 2 and The French Connection.

what would you say?

"Hypercube" isn't worth watching, while first part Cube was great in many ways...

I'm going to concur with the Matrix sequels, as they took what was a perfectly good action/sci fi/thriller with enough intelligence to make it interesting and compelling to ALMOST all levels of viewers (though there's been a huge retro-hatred of it by people who don't think it should be considered intelligent at all, which I think is really just reactionism to the people who think it's God's Gift to Cinema, but otherwise I don't think is very necessary or pro-active) and turned it into an awful sci-fi sludge fest of basically random live action anime bullshit (except not the cool Japanese way that people like Tsukamoto or Miike make live-action anime). Also, that scene with Neo being required to kiss whatsherface? And EVERY scene involving whatshisFrenchface? Pure pain!

Also, Symbiopsychotaxiplasm Take 2 1/2. Basically renders the extremely compelling Symbiopsychotaxiplasm Take 1 utterly unimportant. It's like Greaves said, "Never mind!" and just threw it all away.

  Underworld: Evolution

[noLink]Underworld[/noLink] is and always will be one of my all-time favorite movies. Really really insane movie. The lycan versus vampire thing is awesomely portrayed. The story was good, and it will always be five stars in my book...

But Underworld: Evolution didn't remotely compare to how brilliant [noLink]Underworld[/noLink] was. Where do I begin....it was just all over the place, verging on stupid (probably was, I would have to watch it again, but why even?), and a waste of time. Let's hope the next one isn't this bad...

I actually thought that they dropped the ball BIG TIME with the Vampires vs. Werewolves theme. they could have done SOOOOOOO much, but it just turned out to be a slick electronica/goth music video. Talkin' about part 1, of course......hated it too much to even give the second one a chance
