Praise for MovieLens!

I've been using MovieLens since way back in the beginning, and as someone who has tried quite a few of these recommendation sites, I'd like to say what should be obvious to many: MovieLens is the best and most useful recommendation engine out there. My predicted ratings are on average correct to within better than half a star, and if it were not for MovieLens, I never would have found movies like Seconds, which is not for everybody but which I found quite moving.
I'd like to thank the MovieLens Team for all their work building this site and keeping it going, as well as everyone else for their diligent rating and tagging and forum posting. I love the fact that the site can be both a testbed for research as well as an effective tool for people, and I hope it continues to grow and improve for a long time.

I'd like to back that up. I've been using movielens for a few months now and man has it found me some gems, including a few movies that I'd count amongst my top favourite films ever. Even after all this time it still recommends me movies I'd give five stars to, and it rarely gives me movies that I don't at the very least enjoy.
This is quite an amazing site you guys have got going here. Thank you!
