Discussion of Dogville (2003)

This movie was an impulse buy, it will take a couple days to arrive. ML predicts 4 stars [edit: at the time of editing 3.5 actually :) ] for this movie. I'm a new member so I'm not exactly sure if the prediction is correct. I have rated only 43 movies so far. The question is: whom would you recommend it to? What other movie or movies would you recommend to a person who likes this one?

Dogville seems to be one of those movies you end up either loving or hating.

memasa Answered 6 years ago		I found this movie deeply disturbing and I don't recommend it to anyone. I am a woman and found the treatment of Nicole Kidman's character shocking and sickening. I don't know of any other female who doesn't feel the same way. Doesn't historical accuracy enter your comeupance? --Sumytra Despite the movie is set in the thirties it addresses problems which still exist. Sexual abuse and rape are sadly current, or should I say timeless, issues. I gave the movie 4 stars.
