I think we're talking shitty movies here, although thats a GREAT idea for another thread 'best worst movies ever'. Personally i have a real hard time calling something a 'bad' movie if it brought me enjoyment. as far as terrible movies go, twilight would be right around the top of my list, as well as anything done by micheal bay. I try as best as i can to stay as far away from these types of movies, so i haven't seen all that many. Lets see what my movielens accnt has to say: the secret is my lowest rated movie with a half star battlefield earth catwoman expelled what the bleep ... and zeitgeist all with one star
most of these are so bad they're actually offensive, the rest literally put me to sleep. and i thought the beach was kind of cool from what i recall. agree about titanic, haven't seen the english patient.

Are we talking "worst movies" such as cult classics like "Spider Baby"? Or are we talking "worst movies" that are more or less overblown pieces of dirt like "[noLink]Titanic[/noLink]"? There are some worst movies that, by virtue of their worstness, are spectacular ("Skiddoo," "Spider Baby," and other spectacularly bad films that Movielens has ignored my pleas to add to their database for THE LAST TEN YEARS). Then there are some "worst movies" (i.e., "[noLink]Titanic[/noLink]," "The Beach," "The English Patient") that are gargantuan overblown sails pushing along a little bark of nothing. I mean, sure, these are "great" movies if you're: a) a teen-age girl circa 1997; or, b) a low-minded dimbulb with pretentions to grand thoughts, but when you dig below the "sweeping landscapes" and "lush editing," there's not much below them but pop schlock and predictable heart-string-tugging.

The worst movie is High School Musical for sure. I mean, come on... If you have a high taste for movies and you watch 10 minutes of that horrific excuse for a film, then you'll be cursing at the actors and Disney in no time. It's like being tortured when you actually hear people singing those songs at school or something.

Sweet Home Alabama is probably my top pick, if I'd have been in the cinema on my own I would have left, but the people I was with enjoyed it. It had no redeeming qualities, the plot was terrible the dialouge was terrible, all the characters were completely 'blah'.
I couldn't sit through Waterworld and took it back to the shop.
I couldn't stand E.T. and wanted to kill the fucking puppet (i.e. the alien) and run over the boys bike. Oh and Babe was absolutely horrid, I watched it when it first came out, so I must have been young and asked for a bacon sandwich as soon as I left the cinema.
The Tom Cruise version of War of the Worlds made me want to start a killing spree. It was so bad it was infuriating. Everyone involved in that film should never be allowed to work in movies again.

Southland Tales was an awful mess! anyone seen it? what did you think? Yeah, and I actually sort of liked it really. Sure it's odd, and leaves you rather discombobulated, but I think that's precisely the point. It's a very post-modern interpretation of the abrahamic-god/savior story. Also worst movie ever: Zombie Nation, I can't express enough the injustice that was committed against me while I watched that movie. Don't watch it, you'll just want to die.
There was so many SNL people in southland tales, I wonder why.
I can't stand justin timbersnake.
why did he keep saying pimps don't commit suicide?

I expended quite a bit of energy trying to convince people not to see Southland Tales, of course forgetting that bringing attention to things creates attention to things. I can be pretty petty at times about things like that. Anyway, the point is, I agree full-heartedly: a mess Southland Tales is, and an irredeemable one at that.
