What is the point of adding films which have a release date in summer of 2012?
During the last couple of days someone or someones have added few big name films which have release dates in August 2012 or so. What is the point of adding such films at this time? I see no reason for it.

I'm hoping the person(s) responsible for them would see this and consider not adding any more. Add them close to the release dates. Thank you.

This has now become one of the more ridiculous things I've seen happen on movielens; your complaint has actually gotten those movies removed from the site. All of those movies where added and ready to be rated when the movies came out now it looks like they will have to be resubmitted unless they are just hidden for the time being. Most of the complaints about the site are that it is hard to add movies this has actually resulted in fewer additions not more. Whats worse is that these were added by volunteers, I looked at all of them out of curiosity and there was nothing wrong with them, all the information was correct there was no legitimate reason to get rid of them. If you are going to as for help from volunteers you should just be grateful.

For the record I added Hunger Games, I also added movies like Violet & Daisy and Coriolanus; they are all movies I'm thinking about seeing in the theater and would like some feedback from this site if I'm not one of the first to go out and watch them.

I think it would be most useful if users with a history of submitting accurate movie information were able to add as many movies as they cared to, until that is the case I see no use in undoing the work that had been voluntarily done. I'd be more than happy to add in all movies that are in IMDBs coming soon but seeing as I have a limited amount of submissions I can make every month I have to pick and chose what movies I add.
