If you want the rate random movies feature but limited to a time period go to advanced search like jumpedupcusturd said. It is on the search tab just below the buddies menu.

The first three options are search options, with these you can limit your search by phrase/title, actor or director. The next three options are restrict menus with check boxes. The first one is useful if you want to limit the search to a specific genre, the second one is useful if you only want to exclude only a few genres, the third one restricts by language.

The forth option is finally what you want this is the restrict by date option. Start by clicking "in the range" then enter 2000 in the first field and 2010 in the second field.

The fifth option restricts by your lists that you have already set up, the sixth option restricts by format. You don't need to do anything with ether of these.

The next two check boxes are:

"Don't Show Predictions!"
Check on this if you don't what to know what movielens thinks you will feel about the movie.

"Include Movies I've Already Rated!"
You should make sure this is not checked or you will get movies that you've already rated.

Finally at the bottom of the page there is a sort by list, it automatically sorts by prediction you want it to be sorted randomly and this is where you will do that. So click on Random and then search. It will give you everything you have limited the database to in pages, just go through the pages and there will be random movies.
