Can ML please implement a "waiting period" before users can ask questions?
To eliminate spam in these forums, such as the Viagra ad that's been posted for 12 hours now, perhaps ML should require users to rate at least 25 movies and/or wait a week after registering before they can post? Either one would prevent the "drive-by" spam.

this might seem like a good idea, but it might discourage many people from registering accounts. For example my useless post wouldn't be here if that 24 hour waiting period was introduced. A better solution might be to add a spam button or increase the number of admins who can delete post and ban users.
Even with the waiting period its doubtful that that would stop the spam bots. They don't care about time. delaying their spamming for one day wont decrease the effectiveness of their goals.

why don't we just ditch the q&a and go back to using forums?
